Join us for an unforgettable evening of music and conversation with Eran Tzur, as he explores the connection between Hebrew texts and music.
Blind Far Out at Sea: Eran Tzur in Conversation and Concert
The Hebrew word has always been the driving force behind Eran Tzur’s artistic journey, painting vibrant colours through music. This deep connection between Hebrew texts and a diverse range of musical styles characterizes Tzur’s extensive discography, spanning solo projects and collaborative bands.
At our show in Oxford, Blind Far out at Sea, Tzur will reunite with his old friend, Elad Uzan, a member of Oxford’s Faculty of Philosophy. Together, they will explore the connection between the Hebrew language, medieval texts and musical expression, and the art of composing poetry, playing together from different periods of Tzur’s artistic catalogue.
The evening will open with an introduction to Eran’s work in relation to Hebrew poetry, by Adriana X. Jacobs, Associate Professor of Modern Hebrew Literature and a Fellow at the Oxford Centre for Hebrew and Jewish Studies.
This event is generously hosted in collaboration with the Maison Française d’Oxford and the Centre for Hebrew and Jewish Studies, University of Oxford.
