Dr Adriana X Jacobs has been appointed the Centre’s Fellow in Modern Hebrew Literature and as the University of Oxford’s Cowley Lecturer in Modern Hebrew Literature.
Dr Jacobs completed her BA at the College of William and Mary (Virginia, US) and she received her PhD in 2010 in Comparative Literature from Princeton University. She wrote a doctoral dissertation on modern Hebrew poetry. Her fields of interest include modern Hebrew and Israeli poetry, Latin American Jewish fiction and poetry, and Translation Theory and History.
Dr Jacobs is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow and American Council for Learned Societies New Faculty Fellow in the Department of Comparative Literature and Program in Judaic Studies at Yale University. She has previously taught at Princeton, Yale, and the Jewish Theological Seminary.
