A successful event for friends of the Centre was hosted recently at the Yale Club in New York by Daniel and Joanna Rose. Daniel Rose, Chairman of Rose Associates, a New York-based real estate company, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and his wife, Joanna, who received the Distinguished Friend of Oxford Award in 2012, is a graduate of Oxford University’s St Hilda’s College.
The guests included Oxford alumni, distinguished business leaders and leading philanthropists who came to learn more about the Centre. Dr David Ariel, the Centre’s President, gave a presentation on Oxford’s role in preserving the European Jewish legacy, which is carried forward today by the Centre through its support of research and teaching at the University and through its contributions to contemporary Jewish life.
