Object 4. Raphael, Michael and Ethel

Description:

Raphael has one brother, Michael Loewe (b. 1922), who is also a distinguished academic in the field of Chinese Studies at Cambridge University. Raphael and Michael’s mother, Ethel Victoria (1887-1946) was Albert Hyamson’s younger sister. Both of their parents came from influential Anglo-Jewish families.
