Object 14. Young Louis Loewe and " The Loewes of London"

Description:
Picture of young Louis Loewe by T.F. Swaine [?] at Broadstairs. It is mounted on a mouse-nibbled bit of cardboard and owned by one of the Loewe family members. The location of the original oil painting is unknown.
On the back of it there is an inscription that still awaits research. It is a note written by Louis' son - James Loewe:
"12th July Monday 1943.
The original oil paintings are today the property of the heirs of my Sister Pauline Hirschfeld, now residing at ... I had the copies made in Broadstairs many years ago. Today I am using them in the illustrations to a Book I have written to be called "The Loewes of London" and offered to the "Cresset Press" of 11 Fitzroy Square, London. [signed] James Loewe in my 92nd year - 'ad me'ah ve-'esrim shanah."
