Emma, James’ wife with their grandson David Loewe. David is the son of James and Emma’s youngest child Lionel. He was born in 1933 and in this photograph is less than ten years old therefore this photograph is likely to have been taken before the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939. David was one of Emma's four grandchildren, including Raphael and his brother Michael Loewe and David’s sister Penelope.
